Sacrifice of Love
Betrayed with a kiss,
Detained without a fight.
A righteous Man prosecuted,
A murderer set free.
Wrongfully accused of,
A crime never committed,
Hated without a cause.
Detained without a fight.
A righteous Man prosecuted,
A murderer set free.
Wrongfully accused of,
A crime never committed,
Hated without a cause.
Flocked mercilessly,
Whipped repeatedly,
Despised and tortured,
Spat on and stoned.
Crowned with thorns,
Robed in scarlet.
Carried a wooden cross,
Stumbled and fell.
Profusely injured and drained,
Humiliated beyond comprehension.
His blood dripped,
All the way to Calvary.
Feeble hands and legs,
Ruthlessly nailed.
Fed with sour wine,
Crucified on the cross.
Abandoned…
Forsaken…
He called out to the Father,
Gave up His Spirit,
And He died…
It was done…
The debt of sin nullified,
Because Jesus paid the price.
Bearing humanity’s every sin,
He gave His life…
Just so we can be forgiven…
Just so we can be free…
Eternity’s most poignant sacrifice,
An epitome of love beyond measure…
::Thoughts::Reflections::
Words cannot describe the love that Jesus has for us. He willingly came as a Man knowing that He will eventually die and be humiliated. I believe that whatever He went through prior the crucifixion was needless to say, a fate worse than death itself. Yet and still, He endured without a single complaint or regret, just because of His love for all who were, and who are to come… For everything that Jesus has done for me, how could I not love Him with all my heart and soul? I LOVE YOU JESUS!!!
